Terms & Conditions

Last updated

These terms govern your use of PuckMetrics (puckmetrics.tech) and its API. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. The service

PuckMetrics is an NHL analytics platform: statistics, trend charts, machine-learning game predictions, fantasy rankings, injury-impact estimates and AI-written analysis. It is provided for educational/analytics purposes only — not gambling advice. See our Disclaimer.

2. Where the data comes from

PuckMetrics does not collect hockey data itself. We gather publicly available data from the sources below, normalize it, store it, and build our own calculations on top of it. Data is refreshed automatically every day (around 6 AM Eastern) with additional refreshes during the day, so it can lag live events.

PuckMetrics data sources
SourceWhat we use it for
NHL official public APIs (api-web.nhle.com, api.nhle.com) and NHL EDGESchedules, scores, standings, rosters, player and team statistics, game logs, play-by-play, shift charts, faceoffs, and puck- and player-tracking data. Player headshots and team logos are served from NHL asset servers.
NHL.comTeam news articles.
ESPNInjury reports and NHL news headlines.
News outlets via public RSS feeds — ESPN, Sportsnet, Daily Faceoff, CBS Sports, The Hockey News, New York Post, The Hockey WritersHeadlines, short summaries and links only. Full articles stay on the publisher’s site and belong to the publisher.
The Odds APIMoneyline odds from Canadian-market sportsbooks, used to compare our model with the market.
PuckPediaPlayer contract and salary-cap data, where available.
PuckMetrics (our own calculations)Advanced metrics, game predictions and win probabilities from our machine-learning models, fantasy rankings, injury-impact estimates and projections. These are derived from the sources above and are estimates, not official statistics.
Anthropic Claude (AI)Written game and player analysis generated by an AI model from PuckMetrics data. AI-generated text can contain mistakes.

Official vs. derived. Raw statistics (goals, standings, time on ice, etc.) reflect the source at the time of our last sync. Anything we calculate — predictions, probabilities, expected-goals style metrics, fantasy scores, injury projections, cap estimates — is a PuckMetrics estimate, not an official NHL statistic.

Third-party content. All data, trademarks, logos, headshots and articles remain the property of their owners. News items are shown as headlines and links back to the original publisher. PuckMetrics is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NHL or any of the sources listed. If you own content shown on the site and want it changed or removed, contact support@puckmetrics.tech.

Accuracy. We work to keep data correct, but sources make corrections, feeds go down and syncs can fail. We do not guarantee that any figure is accurate, complete or current.

3. Accounts

You must give accurate information, keep your login secure, and be at least the age of majority where you live. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

4. Plans and payments

Some features may require a paid plan. Prices are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your billing page, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We will give notice before changing the price of an active subscription.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, bulk-download, resell or redistribute PuckMetrics data, predictions or content;
  • use the service to build a competing product or train machine-learning models;
  • bypass access controls, rate limits or paywalls, or share paid access;
  • interfere with the service or attempt to access other users’ data;
  • present PuckMetrics output as guaranteed betting picks or official NHL information.

Personal, non-commercial sharing of individual charts or numbers with credit to PuckMetrics is fine.

6. Intellectual property

The PuckMetrics name, design, software, models and original analysis belong to PuckMetrics. Third-party data and marks belong to their owners (see section 2). Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

7. No warranty and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PuckMetrics is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any betting, fantasy or financial loss arising from use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law, including the Québec Consumer Protection Act.

8. Changes, termination and law

We may update the service or these terms. If a change is material, we will post it here and update the date above; continued use means you accept the new terms. You may stop using the service at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

9. Language

These terms are available in English and French. Both versions are equally valid. Lire en français.
